It's been back to school

After much revision we passed the IOV associate member exam on the first attempt - thank goodness we put in the extra hours revision, talk baout burning the midnight oil!! Well, what does it all mean? Well, essentially, passing the exam proves to our customers that we are focussed on providing the best possible quality and professionalism.
The association level exam has six main competencies: Camera Craft, lighting, audio, post production, health and safety and legal issues.
In order to pass, the relevant IOV member must score highly in each category (and you only get three attempts before having to wait a year before you can sit it again). Well, we're very proud to say that we passed first time and now have a lovely certificate gracing the wall of our editing suite!
Of course, as a UK and industry recognised trade association, passing the exam also means that the IOV allows the examinee (Matt) to use the letters A.M.Inst.V after his name! Go Matt !!
Stay tuned because we're not stopping there. The IOV has several levels of membership and we will be working our way through them in due course.
As mentioned above, this means that not only are we having our work, skills and professional standards constantly monitored from a higher authority but that our customers can relax safe in the knowledge that working with eclips film means the highest possible standard in local videography - and we don't need letters after our name to prove that!
Until next time
Matt
